Kroger has undergone several major C-suite changes so far in 2026, starting with the appointment of CEO Greg Foran, who brings extensive experience from Walmart to the grocery company as it looks to sharpen its omnichannel operations and improve its financial performance. 

Since Foran’s arrival in February, Kroger has named two other executives who worked at Walmart at the same time as him — Mark Ibbotson and Nate Faust — to its C-suite.  

Under Foran, Kroger is also creating new roles for its C-suite. Faust stepped into the new role of chief e-commerce officer earlier this month, while Milen Mahadevan, previously president of Kroger’s 84.51° analytics unit, moved into the newly created position of chief data and AI officer.

Meanwhile, Ibbotson will be Kroger’s first chief store operations officer since Mike Donnelly retired in 2021.

Other top executive changes have happened this year at Kroger with the exits of top vice presidents. In May, Valerie Jabbar retired from her role as senior vice president of retail divisions and Jamie Lancaster, formerly global vice president of the Kroger Capability Center, left the company. That same month, Joe Kelley, who had served as the grocer’s senior vice president of retail divisions, became chief operating officer at Associated Wholesale Grocers.

Before Foran’s arrival, Kroger made several promotions among its vice presidents and division heads at the start of the year, including naming Mike Goodwin president of its Central Division.
