Kroger said goodbye to another top executive recently. Valerie Jabbar retired this month from serving as senior vice president of retail divisions, according to a Friday press release.
Jabbar spent her entire career at Kroger, starting as a clerk in 1987 at the company’s Fry’s division before rising to leadership positions, including district manager, vice president of merchandising, division president of Ralphs and group vice president of center store merchandising. She was appointed SVP of retail divisions in 2021, per the announcement.
Jabbar marks at least the third Kroger executive to depart since Greg Foran became CEO in February.
Joe Kelley, who also held the role of senior vice president of retail divisions at Kroger, moved to Associated Wholesale Grocers to serve as its chief operating officer. Earlier this month, 18-year Kroger veteran Jamie Lancaster, who most recently served as global vice president of the Kroger Capability Center, announced his departure.
