WinCo Foods has named Nathan Tucker as its next CEO, the supermarket operator announced on Friday.
Tucker, who is currently the grocer’s chief merchandising officer, will become president on Jan. 1, 2027, and assume the CEO role on May 1.
He will succeed Grant Haag, who is set to retire next year after working for WinCo for 42 years. Haag will remain with WinCo until Tucker becomes CEO to support the transition.
Tucker joined WinCo as an assistant store manager in 2013 and moved up to district- and division-level roles before being promoted to the grocer’s executive team.
WinCo runs 147 stores in 10 states, including Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington state.
Formerly known as Waremart, the employee-owned independent grocer generated just under $11 billion in retail sales in 2025, up 7% year over year, according to figures from the National Retail Federation.
