Dive Insight:
To use the Savings Stations, which are available across all 162 Giant stores, shoppers scan their Giant Bonus Card or enter the phone number linked to their loyalty account to instantly load weekly digital coupons and activate personalized offers, according to the press release. Customers can also print customized savings lists as well as use these stations to enroll in Giant’s loyalty program.
“The Savings Station was designed to make savings more accessible for every customer, regardless of how they prefer to shop,” said Ryan Draude, Giant Food’s director of omnichannel loyalty. “At a time when customers are increasingly focused on stretching household budgets, the Savings Station provides a simple way to ensure they never miss valuable digital coupons, rewards offers, and personalized savings opportunities.”
Giant Food’s Savings Stations also offer shoppers seasonal recipes and family-friendly activities, including coloring pages and word searches that the stations can print directly.
Grocers continue to try to find effective methods to show they offer value at a time when shoppers are pinching pennies. Earlier this summer, Kroger started allowing shoppers to use points earned through its loyalty program to save on groceries in addition to gasoline. And fellow ADUSA banner Stop & Shop earlier this year finished rolling out price investments across its entire footprint as part of the chain’s multi-year strategy to improve affordability.
