After a string of new grocery partnerships and app updates in 2023, DoorDash is kicking off the new year with the addition of another grocer to its roster. The e-commerce company announced Thursday it is now offering on-demand and same-day delivery from La Michoacana Meat Market.
DoorDash is offering grocery delivery from nearly 200 La Michoacana stores across Texas and Oklahoma, including the grocer’s La Michoacana Meat Market, La Michoacana Supermarket, El Ahorro Supermarket and Sellers Bros locations.
All of La Michoacana’s stores will be available on DoorDash’s membership program DashPass, which offers participating shoppers free delivery on eligible orders, the announcement noted. DoorDash is also kicking off the new partnership with a “special promotion on delivery orders” from all La Michoacana locations until Feb. 29.
As DoorDash continues to expand its reach in the grocery e-commerce market, the company is focusing on adding more international food retailers. In September, DoorDash added two other Hispanic grocers to its platform, bringing its service to 65 El Super locations across California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Texas as well as roughly 59 Fiesta Mart stores across Texas.
DoorDash CFO Ravi Inukonda told investors in November that the e-commerce company is “really pleased with the performance” of its grocery business, noting that the company benefits from its extensive network of customers and delivery drivers, according to a Motley Fool earnings call transcript.
