Associated Grocers Inc. has named David Politz as its president and CEO, the wholesaler announced Wednesday.
Politz had served in the roles in an interim capacity since November, when he replaced Manard Lagasse Jr., who left to join food company cooperative Topco Associates. He has worked for Associated Grocers since 1985, starting as a part-time worker while a college student and moving up to hold multiple leadership positions, including senior vice president and chief information officer.
Politz’s “unwavering dedication, strategic vision, and forward-thinking leadership will continue to guide our company toward sustained growth and success,” Daphne Lamendola, chair of Associated Grocers’ board, said in a statement.
Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Associated Grocers provides whole distribution and support services to about 180 independent grocery stores in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
