Dive Insight:
Amazon’s tie-up with The Raley’s Companies banner is the latest example of the company turning to its delivery services to grow its grocery business. This year alone, Amazon expanded its 30-minute delivery service and entered the B2B grocery space after wrapping up 2025 by scaling same-day perishable food delivery to over 2,300 markets.
Amazon now offers grocery delivery and pickup at four Bashas’ locations in Phoenix, Tempe, Tucson and Scottsdale, Arizona, allowing customers to shop approximately 15,000 Bashas’ grocery items on Amazon.com and the company’s shopping app. Items available include fresh produce, bakery goods, deli items and other everyday essentials, according to the announcement.
To kick off the new partnership, all Bashas’ customers can receive free delivery on orders totalling more than $25, and Prime members can receive $15 off their first order of over $60 by entering a dedicated code, per the press release.
Amazon noted in the announcement that its third-party regional grocery partners, which include Bristol Farms, Cardenas Markets, Weis Markets, Metropolitan Market, Winn-Dixie and Cub, complement its existing grocery offerings from its online marketplace, Amazon Fresh, and Whole Foods Market.
