Dive Insight:
Kroger’s executive shuffles continue as the company readies to name a new CEO sometime in the first quarter of this year.

Goodwin joined Kroger in 2022 to serve as vice president of operations for the grocer’s Fred Meyer Division. Kroger noted that in that role, Goodwin achieved milestones in store performance and sales growth. His new title as Central Division president will take effect April 1, and in that role, he will manage grocery stores, pharmacies and fuel centers in Indiana, Illinois, Missouri and Ohio, according to the announcement.
Prior to joining Kroger, Goodwin worked for Albertsons for 30 years, most recently serving as vice president of operations for the company’s Southwest Division, per his LinkedIn profile.
Last July, Kroger made numerous divisional leadership changes, starting with consolidating its Texas operations and placing the Dallas division head at the helm of the newly created market division. Later that same month, Kroger announced three top executive changes, including appointing a new group vice president for its private label portfolio and naming new presidents of its Cincinnati-Dayton and Louisville divisions. Additionally, the grocer also welcomed a former PetSmart executive to serve as head of sourcing.
