• Remington is introducing iCup, the first single-serve coffee brewing system to use rotational SteamBrew technology. It will debut at the International Home+Housewares Show in Chicago next week.
• The patented SteamBrew system steams and stirs coffee grounds within coffee pods known as K-cups. This rotational brewing technology creates a brewing environment that extracts rich, smooth flavors without the bitter/acidic aftertaste often associated with drip and single-serve coffee brewers.
• iCup will be produced in four models, some including a built-in storage space that holds eight coffee pods. They will be available for retail by third quarter 2014.​

As we've seen here, the single-cup brewing market for coffee has heated up a great deal. After Keurig's patent for K-cups expired in Sept. 2012, the field was open to everyone; and nearly everyone has entered into it. With so much competition, aside from price, the only other way to gain attention is to offer something unique in the K-cup. Some companies are going for brand, some for added health benefits of probiotics, and now, Remington is introducing its own spin -- a process for smoother taste.
