The sound of kernels popping is growing louder across the U.S., according to the Sterling-Rice Group and the National Association for Specialty Food Trade.
Food Manufacturing reports that gourmet popcorn is one of the top ten food trends for 2013. So popular is gourmet popcorn that it is beginning to outshine cupcakes at many events.
Bobby Bell of Could Nine Delights told Food Manufacturing that many schools and nonprofits are using gourmet popcorn as fundraisers and companies are even using gourmet popcorn as corporate gifts. Bell noted that the gourmet popcorn Cloud Nine Delights sells comes from locally-grown, non-GMO corn and the finished product is available variety of flavors.
