Fareway Meat & Grocery announced late last month the opening of its first full-service meat and grocery store in Kansas.
The Basehor, Kansas, location spans 21,000 square feet and includes a butcher counter offering hand-cut meats, fresh produce and an in-house smoker, according to a company press release.
The Midwest grocer has just one other location in the state: a Fareway Meat Market in Olathe.
Fareway’s primary stomping ground is its home state of Iowa, where it runs over 100 of its more than 140 total locations. Earlier this year, Fareway announced the acquisition of two Brother Market locations in Iowa, furthering its presence in the state.
Aside from Iowa and Kansas, Fareway has stores in Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota.
