Aldi is concluding 2025 with one more store opening spree.
The discounter debuted 18 new stores on Dec. 11 and plans to finish out the year by debuting four more locations on Thursday, Aldi confirmed via email with Grocery Dive, noting that these 22 stores will be the last store openings of 2025.
The stores are located across 10 states — Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York and Ohio — with the majority located in Florida.
This marks the discounter’s second store opening spree in the span of a month.
In late November, Aldi opened 16 stores in a single day. Similar to this month’s new store tear, most of the openings occurred in states along the East Coast, most prominently in Florida. Of the locations that opened in Florida, five were former Winn-Dixie stores and one was a former Winn-Dixie Liquor location.
After the four remaining stores debut on Thursday, Aldi will reach a grand total of more than 275 store openings for 2025.
Aldi’s recent store opening sprees are primarily thanks to its acquisition and conversion process of over 220 Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket locations. All 12 Florida stores that the discounter is opening in this latest 22-store round are former Winn-Dixie storefronts, as well as one of the Alabama stores and one in Louisiana.
