Pan-Asian grocery chain 99 Ranch Market will open its first food hall inside its New York City store on Saturday, according to a Tuesday press release.
The food hall, dubbed Eat Up, sits inside a two-story supermarket-food hall hybrid location in the Queens borough’s Flushing neighbourhood. The grocer opened the 22,000 square-foot market floor at 3711 Main Street in late July, marking its entrance into New York City.
The soon-to-open underground food hall spans 12,000 square feet and brings together more than 20 food concepts for an “immersive indoor dining experience” that offers well-known dishes like Taiwanese crispy fried chicken cutlet and regional specialities like Guangxi rice noodles. 99 Ranch said the food hall aims to represent authentic cooking styles and traditions.
“We created this food hall as a community gathering place, a home for anyone who wants to try something new, revisit a favorite flavor, or simply enjoy great food,” said Alice Chen, CEO of Tawa Supermarket, 99 Ranch’s parent company.
The Saturday grand opening will feature cultural performances, chef showcases, all-day sampling and opening-weekend promotions, the press release noted.
99 Ranch currently runs 65 stores across 11 states.
