Erewhon confirmed that it opened its first storefront outside of Los Angeles County last week.
The new store in Thousand Oaks, California, at 2150 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., marks Erewhon’s 14th location.
“[W]e’re excited to share our uncompromising commitment to organic, exceptional-quality food and responsible sourcing with the Thousand Oaks community,” the grocer posted on Instagram last week on opening day.
While Erewhon’s Thousand Oaks store is the first of its grocery locations to expand outside of Los Angeles, the grocer has set up shop beyond its home base. Last year, Erewhon confirmed it was coming to the East Coast, opening a Manhattan Erewhon Tonic Bar as part of a private members club called Kith Ivy.
Erewhon added in its email to Grocery Dive that it has more stores coming in 2027, including its second store outside of L.A. County. This location will open in September 2027 in Costa Mesa, California, a city in Orange County. In June 2027, Erewhon will open a store in downtown Los Angeles.
The grocer also confirmed plans to reopen its Pacific Palisades location in January, nearly two years after the store closed due to wildfire damage.
