Dive Insight:
As vice president of marketing, Dorazio will lead efforts to strengthen the Giant Food brand, improve customer connections across channels and align marketing strategies with merchandising and operations, according to the press release.

As Giant Food’s strategy and e-commerce lead, Dorazio played a key role in shaping the grocer’s strategic business plans, advancing growth initiatives and overseeing the chain’s pickup and delivery offerings, the announcement noted. Giant Food noted that Dorazio’s experience combines expertise in brand strategy, innovation, e-commerce and customer growth.
Dorazio has been with Giant Food since 2019 and is currently the executive sponsor of Giant Food’s Corporate Council. Prior to joining the banner, he served as Ahold Delhaize’s director of brand marketing. He also spent a decade with General Mills, holding multiple senior manager roles that focused on multicultural marketing, per his LinkedIn profile.
“Gregg’s unique combination of strategic thinking, marketing expertise, and deep understanding of our customers makes him exceptionally well-positioned to lead Giant Food’s marketing organization,” Giant Food President Ira Kress said in a statement.
Kress continued: “His leadership has already contributed significantly to our growth and digital transformation efforts, and I am confident he will continue strengthening our brand while helping us deliver meaningful experiences for our customers both in-store and online.”
Dorazio’s appointment comes nearly one year after parent company Ahold Delhaize announced it had achieved e-commerce profitability on a fully allocated basis — an accomplishment reached largely because of the company’s U.S. operations.
Enhancing omnichannel capabilities is a pillar of Ahold Delhaize’s ongoing Growing Together strategy and an area that experts anticipate will remain top of mind for incoming ADUSA CEO Claire Peters.
